Drake & PND

OVERVIEW

For this Drake & PND "Somebody Loves Me" project, we were briefed to recreate the interior of Drake's private plane built from real reference photos and populated with a world of characters living out the high life inside it, from models mid-drink or mid-gamble to others throwing money into the air.

Drake and PND themselves were designed digitally in CG, then 3D printed and hand-painted to bring them into the physical world alongside the rest of the cast. Every supporting model was built and dressed individually, each in a different outfit and caught mid action, giving the plane a genuine sense of chaos and movement rather than a static scene.

The detail work was where this piece really came alive: hand-sculpted miniature handbags, stacks of money, drinks, cigars, bottles down to the chairs, tables, and curtains that furnished the cabin itself. Every prop was built at true miniature scale, giving the finished piece a tactile, lived-in richness that grounded the extravagance of the brief in genuine craft.

The result captured the glamour and excess of the brief while staying rooted in handmade, physical detail, proof that even the most opulent, larger-than-life worlds can be built one small, deliberate piece at a time.
