Bringing the Future Aviva Arena to Life

We were delighted to work alongside the creative team at Aviva to create a handcrafted scale model and stop-motion film showcasing the future Aviva Arena, set to open in Bristol in late 2028.

The film offers a glimpse into the future of the arena through the world of miniature model making and stop-motion animation.

Our team at Scale Model Studios was tasked with transforming the vision for the new arena into a physical, handcrafted model that could become the centrepiece of the film.

Building the Arena in Miniature

Creating the model required a combination of precision, craftsmanship and creative problem-solving.

Every element was carefully considered and constructed to capture the character of the future Aviva Arena while creating a model designed specifically to work within the world of stop-motion animation.

From the architecture of the arena itself to the surrounding details that bring the scene to life, the model was built by hand in our Bristol studio.

Bringing the Model to Life

Once the physical model was complete, the next stage was bringing the arena to life through stop-motion.

Working alongside the wider creative team, the finished film transforms the handcrafted miniature into a living, evolving vision of the future arena.

The result is a playful and engaging glimpse into what’s coming to Bristol in 2028, combining traditional model-making techniques with animation and filmmaking.

A Bristol Project

As a Bristol-based model-making studio, having the opportunity to help tell the story of a major new venue coming to the city made this project particularly special for our team.

From the first stages of the build through to seeing the finished film released, this was an absolute joy to work on and a fantastic collaboration between everyone involved.

A huge thank you to the teams and creatives who helped bring the project to life.
